Watering

Most houseplants prefer to dry out slightly between waterings. Overwatering is the most common cause of plant death.

General guidelines

• Succulents: Water every 2–3 weeks
• Tropical plants: Water when the top inch of soil is dry
• Ferns: Keep soil consistently moist but not waterlogged
